B2B Weekly Support Meetings

How to Join:

If you are interested in attending a meeting, please submit the B2B Program Application. This helps us better understand each participant’s starting place.  Once your application is tentatively approved, Todd or Mike will call you for introductions and to answer any questions prior to issuing a meeting invitation.

Meeting Format:

Meetings are currently via Zoom only.  Those who have expressed an interest in attending meetings are emailed a Zoom link the morning of the meeting.  Meetings last for one hour, start and end on time, and take place each Tuesday from 7 – 8 p.m. (Eastern time) and each Friday from 1 – 2 p.m. (Eastern).

Although not required or expected, some participants log in 5 or 10 minutes early to chat.  Todd, who usually serves as our meeting facilitator, starts the meeting by reading the B2B steps, our group meeting norms, and a daily reflection.  He then asks if anyone present wishes to raise a life issue, celebration, insight, or question about their step work for the group to discuss.  Topics have ranged from dealing with a bully at work, church or home; grieving and loss from medical diagnosis or death; envy and comparing ourselves with others; coping with chronic pain; trusting and communication with a Higher Power; and how do to work a particular step.  The introduction of a topic by a participant is followed by a brief silence to reflect on our own experience with the subject.

After reflecting and gathering thoughts, each participant is asked if they would like to share their own experience with the topic, as it relates to their own brokenness and growth in B2B.  It is always okay to simply pass and just listen.  When participants do share, we do not try to solve that individual’s problem or offer direct advice. We do not judge them.  By sharing what we’ve also faced, how we personally coped, and what we learned from the experience, we hope to help the others in the group.

About 45 minutes into the meeting, once everyone has shared a time or two, the facilitator may open the meeting for general discussions (on or off the day’s topic but still relevant to our B2B program).  The meeting ends on time with a recap and farewell from the facilitator. Some Participants may choose to stay on Zoom after the close of the meeting to chat outside the meeting format.

Remember, there’s is no “right” or “wrong” in meetings. We simply share our own personal experiences, feelings, coping mechanisms and lessons learned.  Most participants start out slow and at their own pace, attending one meeting per week until they are comfortable enough to begin their step work.
