B2B Expectations
B2B Expectations for Referrals and Participants
Broken2Blessing (B2B) is a spiritual but non-religious healing program for anyone willing to work to overcome the devastating impacts of pain and brokenness.
Brokenness harms our relationships with ourselves and others. It impacts us physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Pain and brokenness often arise from losses and hurts beyond our control. Unfortunately, some of our efforts to cope or escape the pain of brokenness are ineffective or harmful to ourselves and others. These ineffective or harmful efforts take on lives of their own, trapping us in vicious cycles of increasing pain, fear, and discouragement.
Some examples of brokenness include: chronic illness and pain or disability, mental illness, alcoholism or other forms of addiction, PTSD and traumatic experiences, divorce, dysfunctional or abusive relationships, anxiety and depression, loss of work, death of a loved one, unjust treatment or social stigmas based on gender, sexual orientation, income, or background.
B2B’s action-oriented program faces these pains head on and transforms them from brokenness (which harm our lives) into blessings (which enhance our lives).
Using the principles and tools of the B2B Program empowers those who practice them to enhance our lives with freedom, joy, peace, and a sense of purpose. The steps and tools of B2B move us from fear-based attitudes and actions to lives built on the core principles of radical compassion, honesty, openness, and service to others.
Those who wish to participate in Broken2Blessing should be ready, willing, and able to take responsibility for their own recovery by:
Maintaining regular contact. Calling and meeting consistently with B2B Leaders or Sponsors on a weekly basis or as often as suggested.
Working Steps with a Sponsor each week in addition to regular weekly contact.
Making themselves accountable for their attitudes and actions in and out of the B2B Program.
Attending at least one zoom or live meeting per week after demonstrating the willingness to work Steps, the ability to use zoom technology if needed, and by the willingness to follow group norms to find or offer support in B2B Group events.
Work with a licensed psychologist or counselor for individual therapy (when able) to support their B2B Program.
Participating actively in other Step Programs (AA, NA, OA, etc.), when these are deemed necessary, but not actively in addiction. B2B is a good way to uncover and address the pain and brokenness that led to various additions.
Contributing to B2B through service, finances, and the sharing of talents to ensure that B2B is there for them and those who come after them.
Reading and using B2B Materials and other suggested literature to improve their skill using B2B tools. (Those with reading challenges work with us to find alternative solutions.)
Attending B2B Retreats or Workshops (when able) to improve skills and find/offer support.
